STUDY THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH CLOSELY<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: orange;">My grammatical errors and typo errors should be tackle with common sense.</span><br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The night was crooked like never before. It brought a chilly and foul air across the city to a lawn outside my house. My legs were fully stretched and my palms were resting behind my head. The summer green grass underneath was warm and feathery. My eyes were looking for the moon amid those twinkling stars. However, the yellow crescent moon was playing hide and seek with an ugly looking cloud. I was waiting for the Nightjar to sing her sweet song as usual but all I could hear was the continuous hooting of an owl which made the night even more ghostly.<br />
<br />
<br />
In the above paragraph, I have used all the four features of the descriptive essay which we have discussed in our ealier lesson.<br />
<br />
1.The most viv<span style="background-color: white;">id <u><b>pictorial details</b></u> </span>from the above paragraph:<br />
<br />
Example form above Paragraph:<br />
a. My legs were fully stretched and my palms were resting behind my head. (This gives picture in the minds of the readers how the speaker is lying outside his home.)<br />
<br />
2. Use of Figurative Language from the above paragraph:<br />
b. The night was crooked like never before. It brought a chilly and foul air across the city to a lawn outside my house. (The night is personified)<br />
c. However, the yellow crescent moon was playing hide and seek with an ugly looking cloud. (Moon and cloud personified)<br />
Use of personification is just an example you may use other too but as i said "DON'T OVER USE IT!" Remember we are writing an essay not lyrical poem.<br />
<br />
3. Sensory Language<br />
LETS EXAMINE THE WHOLE PARAGRAPH AND FIND OUT THE FIVE SENSORY WORDS:<br />
<br />
a. The night was <u>crooked</u> like never before. It brought a <u>damp</u> and <u>foul</u> air across the city to a lawn outside my house. My legs were fully stretched and my palms were resting behind my head. The summer <u>green grass</u> underneath was <u>warm and feathery</u>. My eyes were looking for the moon amid those<u> twinkling</u> stars. However, the <u>yellow crescent</u> moon was playing hide and seek with an <u>ugly </u>looking cloud. I was waiting for the Nightjar to sing her <u>swee</u>t<u> song</u> as usual but all I could hear was the continuous <u>hooting</u> of an owl perched on an old <u>juicy</u> gooseberry tree. The crooked night became even more <u>ghostly.</u><br />
<br />
The following table shows the sensory words accordingly:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMlAtERZS8sRi0L8B5CorMN5Idb6-qVnlmElkICk3CbpFNvQpBxfD8bN0Ncj5HLHjqjwaYb9MIiw2fDHxlV2ha6UBpHTg0s6YBvII3XfJCrT-6dTiHl_lsjWPh2Q6pJ1ynvP-eeB0_nujX/s1600/sense.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="243" data-original-width="689" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMlAtERZS8sRi0L8B5CorMN5Idb6-qVnlmElkICk3CbpFNvQpBxfD8bN0Ncj5HLHjqjwaYb9MIiw2fDHxlV2ha6UBpHTg0s6YBvII3XfJCrT-6dTiHl_lsjWPh2Q6pJ1ynvP-eeB0_nujX/s640/sense.PNG" width="640" /></a></div>
All the underlined words are arranged according to its senses in above table. the point is as we write we should include sensory words which will naturally show sensory details. at our level, we should explore how to use compound words especially compound adjectives such as "green grass", "Crooked night", "sweet song" etc. At times, you wont able to include all the five senses and that absolutely "OK!"<br />
<br />
4/ Intense/Strong Feelings<br />
Descriptive essay is also personal essay like narrative essay. therefore the writer feelings must reflect in your essay. the above paragraph tells that the speaker is experience eerie feeling. There is also a feeling of disappointing as he is not able to fulfill his wish of listening to the song of the Nightjar. The term"ghostly" clearly indicates that he was feeling spooky at that moment. So expressing your feelings through words in descriptive writing is indispensable. <br />

Writing isn't boon from the god, it is more of honing skills associated with writing. Get the technique right, and keep practising: skills do require serious practice and little prayers. Moreover, reading and listening is strongly advised as it is closely linked with good writing. Growth of our writing is so subtle that it is very difficult to pinpoint exactly from which day we have improved our writing. However, you must know that writing is progressive and requires constant practice to keep the momentum going.<br />
<br />
Now, let's look at the basic component of introduction of the essay which given below:<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSVLresdwb-MkwS6w-IfQLkHsrFcQZypIDaV2pq8QgaZxR7-qJ-IYGaF5qrWuRkF9xE69Y3B6Ji7L8x565_hOl1Ztc2j98YNa3Kucvk7_LhQUP0YAIf72HkB08zOILPcJpK8rTz3DTRXPg/s1600/baggg.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="373" data-original-width="731" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSVLresdwb-MkwS6w-IfQLkHsrFcQZypIDaV2pq8QgaZxR7-qJ-IYGaF5qrWuRkF9xE69Y3B6Ji7L8x565_hOl1Ztc2j98YNa3Kucvk7_LhQUP0YAIf72HkB08zOILPcJpK8rTz3DTRXPg/s1600/baggg.PNG" /></a><br />
<br />
Your introduction should include a hook, background information and your thesis statement. You can employ any style of hook depending upon your taste. After the hook make sure that you have the background information where you clearly explain about the topic. Finally, your introduction should wrap up with the thesis statement. These three are the basic requirement to write an introduction.<br />
<br />
Keep practising-Good luck!!!</div>

Square writing Method and it was developed by Judith S. Gould </span> and
Evan Jay Gould. Normally it is used for primary kids but we also used it
in junior and middle schools. Today, let us learn how to construct a thesis statement
using this writing method. As you can see that the topic is placed in the middle square and in each square, you can write your keyword and when you are done with 3 keywords-in
the fourth square, you can construct your thesis statement using all the three keywords.
Now, let’s see how it is done. The topic: Importance

I have put all the three keywords in each square and in the fourth square I have framed a sentence using the 3 keywords. Thus, forming my thesis statement. This method can be suitable to write even your introduction and body paragraphs which I practise in primary classes. I suggest you to explore more on this method.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 12pt;">Thesis statement is an engine of an essay that moves

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;">For some kids-the intensity is never like before-especially at
this hour; kids could be seen hitting the books harder than ever! </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;">They
clearly understand that much of what they have learnt will be now measured
through the medium called Exams. Thus, this realization leads </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;">them to reckon exam as some kind of strenuous activity
and instantly they wear that serious expression till it’s all over. </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;">Indeed there nothing
wrong with the element of seriousness but the question is-to what extent should
we allow our kids to be serious when it comes to exams. And during that phase,
how do we come in as a teacher-as parents? How do we help them to navigate
smoothly through their exams?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7oGQWKgECLcBFQmch7pZuxp8JP7yE5y4qv-NDubQ_YMXdwibm03V6ia3mVGsz0-LMxJ0pANbvRWViLhT-H3lnW3LUyf5hxilKihYB6IIVFIDOn_01_5ej7FVcTqAJrufdGH-I6sY7JvUj/s1600/WP_20150617_15_11_07_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7oGQWKgECLcBFQmch7pZuxp8JP7yE5y4qv-NDubQ_YMXdwibm03V6ia3mVGsz0-LMxJ0pANbvRWViLhT-H3lnW3LUyf5hxilKihYB6IIVFIDOn_01_5ej7FVcTqAJrufdGH-I6sY7JvUj/s320/WP_20150617_15_11_07_Pro.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Yes, some of us have enticed our kids by promising that we
will buy them a flashy lightening McQueen-but-only under the condition if he
gets through with something handsome to show off. In a worst case scenario,
some of us might be radically drilling the consequences in their head and
intimidating what will happen if things turn out ugly from exams. The pressure
is full on-and the target setting contract with the teacher of scoring 60% and
above rings into their head. Very
categorically, some of us-we lay down our expectations and remind them to be prepared for
the penalties. It is indeed a serious business here!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6JKeresB2Vp4eHtIhINXJGMpwJNkyCKl7uyMnWUr58oA_tFsX0AKYEe0MeK9RoFT8383atsBqsabHWj5F8Mf66rsdUZh3xi0uch_wgAp-kXkFneAuOFHkBFF4f0436U68Vh2FZ-HL040X/s1600/Photo0085.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6JKeresB2Vp4eHtIhINXJGMpwJNkyCKl7uyMnWUr58oA_tFsX0AKYEe0MeK9RoFT8383atsBqsabHWj5F8Mf66rsdUZh3xi0uch_wgAp-kXkFneAuOFHkBFF4f0436U68Vh2FZ-HL040X/s320/Photo0085.jpg" width="240" /></a><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Amid such events, do we ever consider the factors that
determine the degree of their intensity with regard to examination? Do we
really think about how far we should be pushing them? Do we really-like, look
into their behavior pattern-like-are they able to eat and sleep well? Are they
in a right frame of mind to appear for the exams? In fact how do you ensure sound physical and
mental state at the point of time? <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;">We know some kids break down at times, unable to cope-unable
to accept the results. At that crucial moment, how do we conduct ourselves so
that we signal assurances and comfort? How
do we plan the rebuilding program for the kids specially to mend their
psychological status? The point here is straight; we don’t want to be the
factor that triggers that </span><span style="line-height: 24px;">humungous</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;"> fear at such events of their lives nor do
we want to give them an impression that they are all alone to prove to the
world how good they are. Like it or lump it-exams are stressful-kids do need
us! </span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"> Just
because many of us-we didn’t receive any healthy sex education from our
parents do not mean that we should continue that same trend. Sex education has
been handled ineptly in our family circle. A sexually developing kid has
very feeble idea about sex education until he gets into the school. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg98AJJV7jLlLUyFfpijZSf5AnETqDxzh6Mm06bZYTtt0lw1kVEMcB1Td5PsClO_cRxKJFMozqn9-FApqNSqlcvGQ19WsIE85VyZJdlswxvkn2Nb0dR_BowQLMjoYVsRFXD74yVov39bPGD/s1600/Photo0622.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg98AJJV7jLlLUyFfpijZSf5AnETqDxzh6Mm06bZYTtt0lw1kVEMcB1Td5PsClO_cRxKJFMozqn9-FApqNSqlcvGQ19WsIE85VyZJdlswxvkn2Nb0dR_BowQLMjoYVsRFXD74yVov39bPGD/s320/Photo0622.jpg" width="320" /></a><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Frankly speaking, many
parents have this complacent attitude that the sex education their kids receive
from school is more than enough for the kids and consequently tend to shy from
enacting their role towards communicating sex education to their kids. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Despite knowing the
fact that sex education is beyond the learning of human sexual anatomy and its reproductive
system, still we fail to propagate the psychological, social and emotional
aspect to sex education. Apart from biological sense, Sex education needs to be
taught through emotional corridor and that’s where parents can jump in!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">How many of us, as
parents- have we really thought about when and how to begin sex education to our
kids? As parents, are we not really
concerned about our growing child-will it be prudent on our part to leave this
role only to our teachers and to some NGOs? </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEZ8t8OLzQktbKDQrIMg7i3hmw7EVR39PPVba-dmNLQQEGsCDz56sYPqKOo7NFVax1qf_gUJKYHlnCTSsp6QCFGh8mqwDejhGgJPxIkq0OtZaIyMRBtazj497kOHDuUD9xBoHlYxlZ5hxv/s1600/photo0244_001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEZ8t8OLzQktbKDQrIMg7i3hmw7EVR39PPVba-dmNLQQEGsCDz56sYPqKOo7NFVax1qf_gUJKYHlnCTSsp6QCFGh8mqwDejhGgJPxIkq0OtZaIyMRBtazj497kOHDuUD9xBoHlYxlZ5hxv/s320/photo0244_001.jpg" width="320" /></a><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Yes, when it comes to sex
education-it is a very delicate subject which we need to illustrate with
greater sense of decency to our kids. An advisory role coupled with active
collaboration with other stakeholders relevant to our child can be a turning
point for the kid’s sexual well being. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Seriously, my friend the
time has come-where we need to sit together face to face with our kids-ask
whether their monthly periodic cycle has any effect on their daily school
activities and talk about what he/she thinks about sexual harassment-probe her about
why rape-about regulatory bodies pertaining to sex crimes. We also need to inform about stigmatization that goes in the community with teenage
pregnancy, sexual transmitted diseases and Of course tell them that the rapist
might be just next door or the person whom she thinks is her world. At least -</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px;">lets us make them aware of sexual crimes and how to deal with such issues.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

probability to get hooked to various vulgar audio-visual elements is very high
than ever before. Despite of imparting
media literacy-still we need to be vigilant and ensure that the video games
that they play-magazines that they read-the songs that they listen to and the
movies that that they watch need to be censored in such a way that they are not
offended. Let’s face it-many things
around us has become sensuous-be it a simple TV ad or a MTV song. In the name
art-the lyrics-the motion pictures are outrageously explicit in
nature-parents need to be careful! Face
booking, we chatting through various social networks need be encouraged and
channeled only through proper conversation about its implication and its
relationship to their sexual growth.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'times new roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;">However, while doing
this- Let us not give them an impression of intrusion, imposition and
intimidation-let’s talk rather than lecturing about it to our kids-lets share
our own experiences and lessons and relate to their own developing sexuality. </span><br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Teaching
is an exhibition of one’s true governance; and how you teach and interact especially
in classroom setting explicitly reflects your style and quality of governance.
Therefore, every individual that bangs into teaching needs to first clearly
understand the importance of embracing the idea of Good Governance and need to
rigorously beef up-contemplate and ultimately need to realize the entire mechanism
of Good Governance.</span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;">Today,
a teacher that undermines the idea of Good Governance and solely focuses upon
delivering his subject across to the learners are more likely to end up either
frustrated or disillusioned with some learners. As a teacher, if we put all our
money in rigorous pre-planning and post-planning of the lesson anticipating good outcome, then yes-we are either gullible or blissfully ignorant at this
juncture, and on wards.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRiRGkf5qLbLTSTjdALoGoFmzeDaEGseJdCbr2lwU2QRxngkEtQP48aP_VQMCZBeFcdp6xknCcnBwavgkmjvfrScj7LaKmOWEbQuBYXl1xjf9OLbwdw_cKO7jx01SNDB2C4sfw_9eBR3K5/s1600/20160524_143955.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRiRGkf5qLbLTSTjdALoGoFmzeDaEGseJdCbr2lwU2QRxngkEtQP48aP_VQMCZBeFcdp6xknCcnBwavgkmjvfrScj7LaKmOWEbQuBYXl1xjf9OLbwdw_cKO7jx01SNDB2C4sfw_9eBR3K5/s320/20160524_143955.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Yes-we know that teaching is not mere transmission of information
and skills to the learners today; teaching is an expression-an emotive art-very
subtle at times and very explicit on other generally determine by our learners
mode of learning as well as by teacher's sheer love of teaching. Yes, there
is no denying that what we teach is important but again deep down we also know
that how we teach cannot be equated with what we teach. This, because the former is driven by end
product while the latter focuses upon the procedural aspects of the teaching
which ultimately mirrors the elements of Good Governance to our learners.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_Jod7tE08mSN9_GfIDa6xyN3uS3N3E0twt4hvrx0rhG9CjRl-Eh-3_wdGC4PtK3G4IAEF9xWIMCHl60cJd76-sebWsBu7OQ6petZV7XAneBOXIW-kUznkyTo6R99t4sDRntgdfpHUzQaB/s1600/20151225_110657.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_Jod7tE08mSN9_GfIDa6xyN3uS3N3E0twt4hvrx0rhG9CjRl-Eh-3_wdGC4PtK3G4IAEF9xWIMCHl60cJd76-sebWsBu7OQ6petZV7XAneBOXIW-kUznkyTo6R99t4sDRntgdfpHUzQaB/s320/20151225_110657.jpg" width="180" /></a><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Hence,
we need to clearly understand where we need to seek immediate intervention in our
teaching. And this clearly leads us towards understanding of Good Governance
within the four walls of our classrooms.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Moreover
with ban of corporal punishment; the concept of placing Good Governance in
teaching learning process has become a top priority. When we talk about strengthening
Good Governance- basically we are talking about strengthening and refining the processes
involved in teaching and learning.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;"> It is indeed a moral duty for the teacher to
practise Good Governance in the classroom setting because intriguingly as it
may seem, teachers are only the institution of Good Governance if ever looked
from the learners’ standpoint. Thus, Teacher and Good Governance is an </span><span style="line-height: 24px;">indispensable</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%;"> characteristic to our learners.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1OiDNTpPTB_tPzRJiWhmtLUaFqqge4WWWJYcu0cJTAv10Jh_zO6N_c5JEkhV6R45aaPjHDIogucuSlhMhtPkQ0t8Ke4jjr0b614pr9Of7ccPCj0ZvI7ba1T3YFu8yau5M3VLvF-IC-tMK/s1600/20160502_101129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1OiDNTpPTB_tPzRJiWhmtLUaFqqge4WWWJYcu0cJTAv10Jh_zO6N_c5JEkhV6R45aaPjHDIogucuSlhMhtPkQ0t8Ke4jjr0b614pr9Of7ccPCj0ZvI7ba1T3YFu8yau5M3VLvF-IC-tMK/s320/20160502_101129.jpg" width="320" /></a><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Now
the question that ultimately arises is-what is Good Governance in teaching
terms? What would Good Governance mean to a teacher and to the learners? As a
teacher-have we ever propagated the idea of Good Governance consciously to our learners? Do our learners need to learn and practise Good Governance? What
are the common core attributes of Good Governance in teaching sense?<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">These
are some of questions that have always enticed us and led us to a journey with a
rock solid awareness that the teacher needs to embody Good Governance and
nothing will deters us from realizing it and ultimately advocating it… <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Startle-you gasp unable to believe that life can be so

What he does-he rolls his sleeve and neatly pulls out one of
his favourite monster from his closet and drops right before your nose. Then,
twinkling a shifty smile he circles you and muffles, “What you gonna do now-this
bad uncle monster is going to eat you up!”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Amid his mocking smile and laughter-your good instinct-can
only tell you to turn your back and run hard down the lane. But before you could
do that-much to your annoyance, he swiftly pulls out another terrifying monster
behind your back. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>

Then, putting a cheeky smile, “Well, my boy-this is what we
call a Mickey Mouse right between the monster and the deep blue sea. The choice

The two monsters sharpen their blood thirsty eyes and gritted
their fangs to go all over you. Indeed a
bad-bad monster.</div>

As you were standing there, your head started playing all sorts

he demands.</div>

But one thing that you know is you are way beyond guns and
way beyond monsters. Your helpless

never be treaded to those who demands-your faiths stands tall. </div>

No matter what- you have decided to stand firmly on your

right into his face. Blood dripped and soiled your face-all red!</div>

talked to myself positively when I have one of those off days in my English
classes. Moreover, I also pump up myself
by listening and watching to motivational videos and speeches which can be
instantly downloaded from the YouTube. Talking good to yourself helps immensely
and so does with motivational videos and speeches. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

is happening with you guys huh? Are you
all planning to tag me as an under performing teacher this year? Is this what you
want me to be at the end? Is this how you are going to pay back to me for teaching
all the good things in life?” Emotional blackmailing takes the center stage. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

grievances. <o:p></o:p></span><br />

<b>Inculcating Positive Discipline through Youth-Police partnership</b><br />

Therefore, when the students are well informed about the implications of coming in conflict with the laws-they tend to recognize their civic roles-held themselves accountable for civic engagement with laws and its stakeholders. <br />
<br />
Today, at a school, all the schools need to have a serious law Club to help kids understand the system of laws and its implications. Media and other information centers needs to cater towards youth about laws in much more amiable ways-in fact all the concerned bodies need be more charismatic-empowering our youth can be best done by ensuring to educate them about laws. <br />

Thus, it gives shape to positive discipline.<br />
Many juvenile crimes are rampant but with such robust advocacy movement of RBP backed by teachers, parents and communities with various agencies-we can surely help our youth to retire from committing unlawful acts. Lets us all make our kids conscious towards law and help them to realize their roles with the laws. This movement needs to vibrate far and wide.<br />

<b><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Graphic novel is the call <o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Why should we be
astonished to see a young boy who hardly reads is glued to a book that has
picture and story together in it?
Graphic novel can overwhelm kids especially those who finds words filled
novel excruciatingly painful to read. Considering our reading culture, we should not
be too cynical and jeer at if graphic novels are encouraged to our kids. Graphic novel can be instant hit in promoting
reading habits of our youth.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">A book with flashy
images of high flying heroes and ghostly looking villains-monsters and muscled
warriors, sexy princess and colorful clowns in every flipping pages can makes
reading too savory. It is arguably true
that a picture is worth a thousand words. Imagine, marriage of images and words
naturally fitting the missing puzzle of our long quest for healthy reading
culture. Kids tend to relish comics and
image laden magazines over wordy novels because it is tempting-evokes instant curiosity
and makes reading direct-effortless hardly confusing them. Therefore, graphic novels flooding in should
not be seen as cheapening move rather a move with an intention to cater to a section
of kids who still shy away from reading.
<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"> Graphic novels can serve as fresh and
alternative choice of reading to our kids; a child who hardly reads can easily
deal with assigned book reviews and book talks.
Images there-will help them in retention of series of incidents and characters;
ultimately end up fattening their comprehension level. Moreover, such books have that ticklish
characteristic which would summon the reader again. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Imposing kids to read
can be frustrating for both the parties-reader nor can imposing man smile at
each other. So, how about going win-win status for both with graphic novels. First,
that willingness has to get into the head of the kid to read and introduction
of graphic novels can be timely rather than ringing his ears with lethargic
lectures of why he needs to read. Enthusiasm is synonymous to graphic novel in
our journey towards reading. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

around. Humour that degrades and intents
to hurt students sentiments either by ridiculing their physical aspects or
cognitive abilities or even their culture-religion can lead to a growth of inferiority
feeling- and just like that we won’t even realize that the child has slowly but
surely faded away from us. As teacher
none of us intent to do so but as I said unaware and out of innocence –at times
our humour can go all wrong-although our intent was to make the class
rigorously animated. The subtlety and
ambiguity always hangs around with any sort humour. Thus, we need to be awfully careful about it
usage.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

to such a cheap and pathetic humor at

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Seriously-in school setting-anything that stirs up

notion that in the school sense-humour should be light hearted and laughable at
cost of students’ failure. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

lighted hearted positive remarks that evoke laughter from the dreamy looking
students in late afternoon classes can be categorized as a superb humour. Today, in modern school setting, we cannot
overlook humour-espicially with banning of corporal punishment, perhaps to some extent, we can resort to
healthy humour to pump up our students and in process get our job done. Interaction-intimacy and more openness can be
developed leading to good teacher-student rapport. Thus leading to healthy class room teaching
atmosphere. Moreover, it can also make
a lovely space to dig deep into the lives of the kids beyond their classroom
setting and end up providing comfort and

his temperament could also play huge role in establishing animated teaching-learning

make both the parties happy at the end of period. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; mso-background-themecolor: background1;">
<b><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Parenting (Teaching) kids Through Positive Discipline<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; mso-background-themecolor: background1;">
<b><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 150%; mso-background-themecolor: background1;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Nowadays, it
would be too costly for teachers (Parents) to be skeptic about positive discipline. Bragging about noble intention behind using
force is seen as going against the fundamental rights of the child. Seriously speaking,
no matter what your intent may be -it is all secondary if you throw your hands
at your kids-that’s the bottom-line-fact! Fact! Fact!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 150%; mso-background-themecolor: background1;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 150%; mso-background-themecolor: background1;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Now, let us
not touch on the subject whether corporal punishment should be banned or not-such
issue has vigorous tendency to ignite more confusion to a simple layman and-agitation
and intolerance between the two schools of thought. Discussing about which party is right and
which party isn’t- looks futile at the
moment. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 150%; mso-background-themecolor: background1;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background: white; line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 15.0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; mso-background-themecolor: background1; text-align: justify;">
But, one thing is definite-Corporal Punishment was never formally
introduced in our school system. I
believe by the year 2008 in <span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">11th
Annual Education Conference, ban on corporal punishment in schools was finally
done and dusted and moreover guidance on school discipline was framed in 2011
to further enhance child friendly school.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="background: white; line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 15.0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; mso-background-themecolor: background1; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Therefore, out of
sheer frustration, we cannot simply play deaf, dumb and blind towards corporal
punishment and take it with the pinch of salt-it would be a wrong approach
towards positive discipline. It is not a
compulsion; it is way of life-if you really look in. Otherwise, double standard will sneak in our
Bhutanese society pertaining to it. First, let’s change our mindset-be more positive
about the concept of positive discipline and sincerely give serious thought
about following it. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="background: white; line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 15.0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; mso-background-themecolor: background1; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Positive discipline
is firmly a long term process therefore our temperament towards it has to be
with an absolute patience and also needs to keep in mind that all the apples
may not be of same size with same colour
and taste. As long as we have made up our mind to sail in through with it, our
attitude-our body language-even our talks needs to pop out positive vibes
around. The teachers and parents themselves need to be the institution that’s reflects
positivity in life to move forward with positive discipline-otherwise it’s all
mockery of such noble path. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="background: white; line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 15.0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; mso-background-themecolor: background1; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Instantly, jumping
into conclusion and saying it doesn’t work can be too ignorant and too harsh. Or
simply encountering few dozen miscreants getting on to our nerve shouldn’t make
us cynic-then-positive discipline will never find a firm footing in our
parenting arena (Home and School). We
need to forget the idea of controlling-or instilling fear to mould our
kids-rather we should be hitting hard on how to inspire and motivate them to avoid
such misbehavior from their part. Moreover,
we need to be more open-more reaching towards our kids to understand why such offences
come from them in the first place. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="background: white; line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 15.0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; mso-background-themecolor: background1; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">As long as we are
patient-positive and focused-not deterred by few rotten apples-positive discipline
will work magic because ultimately it is love that wins over all odds.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="background: white; line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 15.0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; mso-background-themecolor: background1; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background: white; line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 15.0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; mso-background-themecolor: background1; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="background: white; line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 15.0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><b>My Experiential Learning…</b><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Many of our teaching occasions should
be framed in such a way that children should get the limelight. Learning processes that stimulates the kids
to actively involve ultimately helps them to embrace accountability to the task
assigned. Moreover, the pleasure and
hardship that they draw from such challenges have greater tendency to inculcate
the values of appreciating their own ability to persevere, initiate, and to
have that genuine sense of ownership to given challenges. Such approach to teaching is must especially
when the learners tend to shy away from their learning and also when you have
learners who emanate illusive and shy characteristic. However, without crystal –clear instructions
accompanied with rigorous monitoring and follow-up, such approach can look too
casual. Moreover, positive supplementary commentaries and timely guidance must
be ensured to enhance experiential learning.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">During the course of my teaching, I
have lately come to realize that teachers should fade away amid the session-
he/she should always brainstorming himself/herself constantly how to create a
mood or situation where children can get ample room to exhibit and realize
his/her potentials. I believe, now, it’s
quite old fashion for teachers to act like invincible-supreme wisdom holder-
transmitting his/her realization to his learners with a stern physical presence. Today, a teacher should be rather more
animated to check whether learners share the same realization as his/her own or
not –opinions should be shared amicably and valued. Imposition of one’s ideas and philosophy is
outrages and- out of question. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">When I talk of experiential learning,
it cannot be narrowed down to field trips-study tours; in fact, I have this
firm believe that any task that arouse the sense of achievements-realization and
sense of belonging through his/her internal exploration and discovery can be a
part of experiential learning.
Experiential learning need not have to go beyond our classrooms-such
misconception can lead to complacency and monotonous teaching where children end
up being passive listener and teachers as divine giver.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Numerous probing-brainstorming strategies
and creating a situation where learners are bound to be inquisitive, critical
and creative can imply that it is an experiential learning. However, simply making kids to stack facts
and figures-and deriving false sense of achievement as the kids admirably regurgitate
exactly from test can be a piteous moment in the life of a teacher. In any learning situation, teacher has to
evoke the kids and quietly fade away amid their exploration so that his/her
learners can find a way to glow ceaselessly-after all-lets accept it- it’s
their show and it’s their stage- and all we can do is sit behind the curtain
and relish their awesome performance. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; tab-stops: 40.5pt;">
<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Hats off to John Dewey for evoking
and making teachers like us educationally conscious about experiential
learning-the soul searching continues...
